Jennifer Haywood, an associate professor at Ithaca College, leads students at the Immaculate Conception School in "Obwisana," a childrens' song from Ghana Monday night at the Ethnic Heritage Festival at the Immaculate Conception School in Ithaca. From left, are Arjun Sing, student teacher Melissa Quinones, Mopane Radcliff (obscured by the conductor's arm), Eric Cruz Hernandez, Associate Professor Baruch Whitehead, student teacher Fanny Lora, Kiya Conners, Peter Santana and Stephanie Smith. Quinones and Lora are Ithaca College students studying to be music teachers in a program taught by Haywood and Whitehead at Ithaca College. The program has been sending student teachers to the Catholic school since 1946. The evening celebrating the cultural diversity of the school included performances by students and parents and included a dish-to-pass dinner of ethnic food.
