ITHACA -- A two-month investigation into narcotics trafficking in the city culminated in the arrest of a 25-year-old resident on felony drugs charges after police found $5,000 worth of cocaine.
Raysaun Slaughter was arrested on Monday at approximately 4:30 p.m., after officers from the Ithaca Police Department special investigations unit and the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Unit stopped a car on Esty Street and served a search warrant.
Slaughter was found in possession of approximately two ounces of cocaine, a scale and $180 cash, according to police.
The vehicle was towed to Ithaca police headquarters and further searched, but no additional contraband was found.
Officers also entered a First Street residence pursuant to the search warrant, and found a loaded 9mm handgun.
Slaughter was charged with criminal possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
