* Record: 0-1, 0-1 ECAC Hockey

* Last time out: The Big Green opened its season with a 5-3 loss to Harvard on Oct. 30. After missing all but two games last season, senior Rob Smith returned and scored the game's first goal. Dartmouth then allowed three second-period goals and went on to lose despite outshooting the Crimson 44-28.

* In the crease: Jody O'Neill was the Ivy League and ECAC Rookie of the Year last year (.923 saves percentage, 2.50 goals-against average). He was unable to do much against Harvard's explosive front line, saving 23 of the 28 shots.

* Top skaters: Defenseman Evan Stephens has been Dartmouth's top scoring blueliner for the past two seasons and notched an assist against Harvard. Dartmouth returns its top four scorers from last season - Adam Estoclet (8 goals, 24 assists, 32 points), Doug Jones (6-22-28), Scott Fleming (13-12-25) and Stephens (5-14-19).

* Of note: Troy Mattila (N.Y. Islanders), Joe Stejskal (Montreal), and freshmen Mark Googin (Boston) and Dustin Walsh (Montreal) are all NHL draft picks. ... Peter Boldt is the Big Green's captain, and Joe Gaudet and Scott Fleming are assistant captains. Gaudet is coach Bob Gaudet's son. ... The Big Green has three sets of brothers - Joe and Jim Gaudet, Connor and Mark Googin, Nick and Dustin Walsh. ... Cornell and Dartmouth split the series last year with the Big Red winning at home 3-1, and the Big Green winning in overtime 5-4 in Hanover. ... Cornell's Colin Greening has nine career points (5 goals, 4 assists) against Dartmouth. ... Cornell leads the all-time series with Dartmouth 71-42-2.
