DEPOSIT New England Wood Pellet LLC said Friday it completed its purchase of Norbord Industries for an undisclosed amount. New England Wood, based in New Hampshire, said in August that the sale would close this month.

New England Wood will immediately start construction of a 100,000-ton-per-year wood pellet manufacturing facility at the Norbord site, on Laurel Bank Avenue. The new facility will be called Deposit Wood Pellet LLC and begin production by October.

Much of Norbord's manufacturing equipment and infrastructure, which was used to make medium density fiberboard, will be removed. New England Wood said it has hired 20 of Norbord's employees. Norbord had 90 workers in August.
