Charges filed in residential burglary cases

Southern Tier residents accused of stealing more than over $20,000 in collector’s coins and jewelry face felony burglary charges.


State police, assisted by police agencies in Broome County and Pennsylvania, charged seven suspects in residential burglaries that occurred during October. The victims’ homes were in Broome and Chenango counties and in Susquehanna County, Pa.

According to a state police report, the following were charged with second-degree burglary, a felony, and sent to the Broome County Jail without bail:

* Matthew J. Murray, 19, of Acre Place, Kirkwood.

* Mark A. Murray, 19, of Acre Place, Kirkwood.

* Taylor J. Wright, 18, of Roberts Street, Kirkwood.

* Jerry W. Armondi Jr., 22, of Bourbon Street, Norwich.

* Kevin J. Markoff, 18, of Trim Street, Windsor.

Also, Kenneth R. Degroat, 19, of Trim Street, Kirkwood, was charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor. Richard J. Buchert, 21, of Mary’s Road, Windsor, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor. Both were released for later court appearances.
