Scouting harvard
* Record: 1-0, 1-0 ECAC Hockey
* Last weekend: Alex Killorn scored two goals and assisted on another -- all in the second period -- and goalie Kyle Richter, ECAC Hockey's top goaltender from 2007-08, returned to the crease and made 41 saves in Harvard's 5-3 season-opening victoryover Dartmouth. Killorn was named ECACH's Player of the Week. Richter did play last season.
* In the crease: Richter didn't show much - if any - signs of rust in the Crimson's first game by stopping 41 shots, including all 21 he faced in the second period.
"I think he played well and he'll continue to improve when he gets into more and more game situations," Harvard coach Ted Donato said.
* Key skaters: Captain and preseason All-American Alex Biega and fellow senior Doug Rogers have not missed a college game and were the top two scorers from last season (Rogers 8 goals, 13 assists; Biega 4 goals, 16 assists). While the Crimson's top seven scorers are back from last season, most eyes will be focused on freshmen Louis Leblanc, a Quebec native who was the Montreal Canadiens' first-round draft choice. Leblanc didn't disappoint in his debut, notching a goal and an assist.
* Of note: The Crimson did not win a game at home last season. Its Oct. 30 victory at Dartmouth was its first victory away from home since beating Cornell in 2008 in the ECAC Hockey semifinals. ... Cornell leads the all-time series 65-58-7. Harvard has won five of its last six games against Cornell, limiting the Big Red to just eight goals in that span. ... Harvard's first five games are on the road this season, its longest season-opening trip since the 1958-59 season.
