BINGHAMTON The Community Foundation for South Central New York has added Heather M. Cornell to its board of directors.

Cornell is a partner with the law firm of Levene Gouldin & Thompson LLP. She practices in the areas of commercial and residential real estate, general business law, oil and gas law, estate planning and administration and elder law.

The Community Foundation helps area residents fulfill their personal philanthropic goals by directing their charitable contributions into various types of funds, most donor-established, which form the foundation's overall endowment. From these funds grants are then awarded to the region's nonprofits.

The Community Foundation serves Broome, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Otsego and Tioga counties.
