Local filmmakers Becky Lane and Noni Korf, whose short films have been shown at more than 80 festivals around the world, will host "A Very Nice Evening" from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Kitchen Theatre in Ithaca.
"A Romantic Adventure" is planned for Feb. 11-12 at the "Off the Beaten Path" wineries and other businesses on the eastern shore of Cayuga Lake.

This week, two more singer-songwriters, Anna Coogan and Mike Herbster, will play shows to mark the release of new CDs. Let's meet them.
Ambient folk rockers The Barr Brothers will play Saturday at The Haunt in Ithaca, along with the evening's headliners, Blind Pilot.
The Ithaca Shakespeare Company will open its 2012 season on Tuesday, Valentine's Day, with an indoor production of "Twelfth Night." The production will run through Feb. 26 at Fall Creek Studios.
Portland, Ore., indie folk band Blind Pilot will headline a great night of music on Saturday at the Haunt in Ithaca.
The Pink Floyd Experience will bring its namesake's legendary sounds and sights to the State Theatre stage for an 8 p.m. show on Wednesday.
The "found video" movie is a tricky thing. Sometimes it comes off smashingly, as in "Cloverfield"; sometimes it's a jerky, nauseating mess, like "The Blair Witch Project." The latest entry in the genre is "Chronicle," a sci-fi picture about three Seattle teenagers who happen upon an alien entity that gives them gonzo powers: telekinesis, near-invincibility, super strength, even the ability to fly.
Here are some recent DVD releases, all films I haven't previously reviewed:
The five members of Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad have lived up to their band name in the more than 700 shows they've performed since the 2006 release of their debut album, "Slow Down." Their bass-heavy reggae grooves have earned the band a wide following, with appearances at a variety of festivals (including GrassRoots) around the country.
The Harlem Globetrotters, the legendary team of barnstorming basketball tricksters, will make another visit to Elmira's First Arena on Monday. This year, the Globetrotters offer a squad made up of favorite veteran performers and some new stars, including a man billed as the world's tallest professional basketball player.
Comedian and television personality Howie Mandell will perform his stand-up act Wednesday night at the Clemens Center in Elmira.
For rock fans, the Yardbirds will always remain the mid-'60s band that launched three legendary British blues guitarists: Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page. They also produced such touchstones as "For Your Love," "Over Under Sideways Down" and "Heart Full of Soul."
